It really depends on the area you live as to the rent e.g Los Cristianos approx 5 - 600 euros per month somewhere more rural approx 3-400 euros per month. Most people will not employ you until you are on the Island and have your NIE numbers etc in place. You have to get these from the police station in PDLA and now have to pay a fee of 9 euros. You will have to get form Modelo 790 from the police station first and pay this at the bank prior to applying for your NIE.
Be prepared to do anything workwise. Best thing to do is get your NIE Numbers in place and a CV then hit the streets. The wages here are a lot less than what you have probably been used to. If you can earn 800-1000 euros per month then you are doing well
Also don't forget things like private medical Insurance etc. until you start working legally. You only get State care here if you are paying into their tax system or your are retired.
Please do not move here unless you have done your research and then researched things again. So many people up sticks and move here without a clue as to what paperwork etc they need and are gone again in no time. If you have three things to do here in Tenerife in a week and you manage to get one done then you have had a result. Let's just say things take slightly longer here.
Hope this is of some help
