hi im off to lindos next week , can anyone tell me what it is like for mozzies
thanks mo
Fifteen years or so ago, I had the worst mozzie experience of my life (and there have been many mozzie experiences) in Rhodes, resulting in hospital treatment I had so many swollen and infected bites. It wasn't Lindos, I have to say, and I can't speak for other people. However, if I was to go to Rhodes again, I would most certainly be armed with my Jungle formula. Sice then, I also leaned to buy a can of Raid knock-down spray (for my room/apartment) as soon as I arrive anywhere
this year, the mozzies are very, very bad but even worse are the so called fruit flies. They are very tiny but they bite you really badly. specially on your head if they like your shampoo. It takes ages for them to heal. Luckely, after the picking of the apricots, these flies go. So, take some precaution and get loads of Autan or similar strong products as well as a spray to use in your room before you go out in the evening. And never ever let a window open when you have got the light on in your room.
I've just got back from Pefkos and my legs are in a right state from mozzie bites. I've never been bit before and got away with it until my last night when I was bit to bits. there is too many to count and i've had to go to the docs and get some antibiotics as some have gone septic. Out of over 50 of us on the holiday only a few got away with it. Definately take loads of mozzie repellent!!!

Buy lemon shower gel (any kind) to take with you, and when you get there buy a fresh lemon from the super market, keep it in the fridge, and every night before you go out cut a slice and rub it all over your body.
It works. I haven't been bitten in either July or October when we have been.
Remember do not wear perfume of any lkind, deoderant (obviously) hair spray aswell but no pefume or body sprays.
Try and let me know
Regards
Sarah
I tried the fresh lemon thing (on the advice of my hosts) a few years before the Rhodes episode when in Turkey, never again!! Still got bitten, and spent all evening feeling sticky.
