I am quit interested in looking at social history. If we visit a museum will all the information be in Bulgarian or will we have English info as well?

depending which museums you visit most of the exhibits have both B ulgarian and English descriptions although the English may not be as full as the Bulgarian

Recommend the Archaeological Museum in Varna, where most of the signs are also in English. It's world famous for its ancient gold artefacts. See HERE and HERE
Others such as the Ethnographic Museum are more modern social history. We have been to this one, but can't remember if any of the signs were in English.
