Showtime tours are a company with several shuttle buses and some large coaches. It will most likely be a shared transfer.

Taxi-fare would be just over $15.00 plus I presume a tip. Not too bad a price. Will see what the transfer situation is like when we get there.
How easy would it be to get a taxi from the airport? How about those stories about not or going via the tunnel?

I also think it would be a shared transfer. There are reviews of Showtime HERE and they're not good.
Personally I would pass on the shared transfer, as you are most likely to be dropped off last, and go for a taxi. We have only used a taxi twice from Terminal 2, the international terminal. Waited 15 mins the first time and walked straight into taxi the second time.
Just say, "No tunnel please" when you get in and if they ask how you want to go, say Swenson. Remember to tip 20%. You will see 2 meters in the taxi, one is the fare and the other should show something like $1.20 which is an additional fee for being picked up at the airport which you add to the fare.
If you really fancy arriving in style you can book a stretch limo for about $60 for an hour.

Those reviews don't make good reading, though most of them concern daytrips to the Canyon and the likes.
Also don't like the sound of being dropped off last. I presume that the Stratosphere hotel is situated furtherst from the airport?
Might be wise to spend that little extra on a taxi and stuff the transfer.

Yes it is the furthest strip hotel from the airport, only the downtown hotels would be further.
The taxi isn't really that expensive, $18-20 is only £9-10 including tip and to me it's worth that not to be hanging around for 30-40 mins on the shuttle waiting for it to fill up and maybe another hour until you're droppped off. That's precious Vegas time! A taxi will only take about 20 mins.
You'll have to get used to the tipping culture. Meals look cheaper, but then you have to remember to add 15-20% tip.

To clarify. Paradise and Swenson are one way near the airport. Paradise is incoming and Swenson outgoing. So your best bet would to be to ask for Paradise/Swenson because the driver can get back on to Paradise once the one way system finishes.
