Hi Everyone,
My friend is going to Grecian Park Hotel (between Protaras/Ayia Napa) September 2007 for her wedding.
We (my husband and I, early 30's) are going along also but would prefer to stay in a hotel closer to the towns either Protaras or Ayia Napa.
Can anyone recommend a 3/4* hotel, close to or on a sandy beach and within walking distance to all amenities. (not asking a lot! )
Also flights need to be from Belfast....Dublin at a push.
Am I right in thinking the 'party' season will be over in Ayia Napa then?
We have never been to Cyprus before so any comments/advice is much appreciated.
Thanks
Jaime C
The iliada beach hotel is slap bang in the middle of Protaras and has direct access to the beach, if you book direct with the hotel should cost around £55 per night for B&B that's for the room not per person.
Thanks for the quick reply Maurice, do you know of any tour operators that use them? Or how can I get flight only from Belfast to Cyprus I don't know off hand any that do this.
we looked at Illiada beach via OTbeach.com and it was I think also in our airtours brochure.....
http://www.skybargains.co.uk they are showing flights to Larnaca departing 20th of September for £219 return, when your about to book put in code blue for a discount on the price quoted.

Sorry that's for 2006

Sunrise Beach Hotel, Vrissiana Beach Hotel, Capo Bay Beach Hotel.
All are on the beach, all 4*.
Iliada I would not recommend as a little cramped on their grass.
For 3* try
Silver Sands Beach Hotel.
For apartments try
Melina, Happy Days.

thanks Keith, I have noted all them. Going brochure hunting tomorrow in the travel agents.

Price up package holidays and then price it DIY for this year and compare prices. Then you can see if your better off doing DIY.
hi there stayed at the iliada 2 years ago it was ok but if you are going to go there book direct with the hotel it is much cheaper. i can also recommend the constantinos the great hotel i stayed there last year it is 5*. it cost me just under £100 per day for 4 of us b+b book through tssokkos hotels. iam staying at the marlita beach hotel at the end of june. this will be my third time there it is about a mile out of town.if you need anymore help just ask cheers tam.
Ive been to protaras 7 years running, staying at the sunrise beach twice, vangelis, kapetanious bay next to macdonalds, ketsios, capo bay is nice,in the big hotels the drinks are silly prices.Last year we stayed at the lantiana gardens which i think is superb its only a 2 minute walk to the beach drinks are well priced as is the food, this hotel is 4 star and is only in the airtours brochure i will book again for 2007,to look at the reviews on this hotel go on holidays uncovered.Last year 2 bercardi and cokes were 7 pounds in english money in the sunrise beach, dont get me wrong im not short of money but even so i dont like being ripped off.
Great suggestions! Thanks everyone. Going to have a look at them over the weekend and once my friend decides her definate date then get it booked.
hi , i stayed at the lantiana too last year and thought it was a great place to stay. i tried to book again this year but airtours flights from manchester were not suitable for our young family. we're now going to the brilliant apartments in october which have great reviews too. the capo bay looked really nice too which is close by. my kids used to love feeding the fish in their koi pond.
the sunrise beach brilliant hotel was there last year back again in 8 days time no fighting for sunbeds once you've picked them there yours for the holiday. great idea no stress at 6 with the towels.
Thanks again everyone, went to a few travel agents today but most are still waiting on brochures coming in. Have ordered a few online also.
Quite like the look of constantinos the great hotel with Libra. Anyone know what airline they use?
Usually someone like Excel
We came back from the Grecian Park last Wednesday. We flew from Belfast and booked hotel and flights separately. Flights were booked thru TravelRepublic (flew with MyTravel) and were the cheapest my husband could get - £225. It saved us a lot rather than booking a package and flight times were great - out 9:05am and back 5:15pm. Just gave me time to put the washing on before bedtime!!!
Ann
Can I ask who you booked hotel with? Was it direct?
Who was the flights with (with airline)?
So many questions and what was Grecian Park like, ok?
thanks
Jaime C
We booked the Grecian Park directly by email. The flights were booked thru TravelRepblic on the Internet and the airline was MyTravel.
The Grecian Park was brill! We have stayed there more than 20 times, so there must be a reason for going back! The rooms are OK, nothing special, but they are clean and the beds are spotless and the towels are changed every day. The foyer and the pool are brilliant and the location is excellent - half way between Ayia Napa and Protaras - the best of both worlds. I would recommend a car though.
Hope this helps
Ann
