Hi, i got back from Turkey yesterday, so now i think it is time to plan my next holiday for after christmas.
I'm after going away for a week around 3rd Jan 2010 for 7 nights. I have heard that the canaries are ok at that time of year.
Im looking for somewhere not too far from home, doesnt have to be very hot weather, but i would like somewhere in the 20 degree region.
What is gran canaria like i Jan?
I have already ruled out Egypt, because we will be going there in April.

We have been to Gran Canaria the week before Christmas, weather was hot during the day but it was dark by 6pm and the evenings were chilly. I had a denimn jacket which was fine. I'm assuming 3rd Jan would be similar.

We went to Puerto Rico, which, unless they have got rid of the touts everywhere you turn, I would avoid like the plague. Plus it's very hilly if you have a buggy. I'd suggest Playa Del Ingles which has small amusement parks, crazy golf, aqua park etc for the little ones, sorry though I can't recommend any hotels as we stayed in P. Rico. Have a look through the hotel reviews.

I too have stayed in Puerto Rico, but that was at least 17 years ago. My mum said she wouldnt go back there because of the touts.
I have got Playa del ingles in mind, as this seems to suit us better. There seems to be quite a lot to do, but im a bit worried it might be a ghost town in Jan.
