The weather in October can be unpredictable! Its often the month when it starts to rain. When it rains here its usually either 3 spits or a torrent! However a day that starts rainy may well have glorious sunshine by the afternoon so I would pack a raincoat but not worry about it too much.
Evenings and mornings start to get a little chillier, but in the daytime its usually pleasant.
In October I usually wear trousers and vest top and have a cardi handy. I'm usually still in flip flops too. Its not unusual to see tourists in shorts.
There are plenty of shops around and you will be able to buy everything you need.
There is a feria in Nerja during the early part of October which goes on for a week. Its lovely to visit but you won't want to be staying nearby! Its very noisy and goes on all night so you'll need to bear that in mind when booking.

Thanks for the reply Kayley, we are thinking of around 17th october and possibly staying at oasis capistrano. We are looking forward to visiting this are as so many of our friends have said how nice it is but, no one we know has been at this time of year. Jacqui

The feria will be over well before then and life will be back to normal!

The Oasis Capistrano is a nice area. You probably know that its on the edge of the town so you would have a bit of a walk in.
