There wont be a problem, especially later in the season. The majority of travellers will probably be using the newer notes as most ATM's and banks are only handing out the new ones now.

i have always found it to be better to use tenners in turkey ,the reason being if you are at the market you usually buy three or four items for a tenner if you pay with a twenty the always want to give you your change in y.t.l and you end up losing.

What is the general opinion on holiday money, is it best to take british cash to Turkey and look for the best rates or would I be better off using ATM's to get money and just accept the rates the bank pay?

We always take most in English in £10 and £20 notes with a bit of Turkish to put us over for a day or so.
I know a lot use the ATM's but i would be to worried in case the machine took my card and we had no money for the rest of the holiday!!!!!!

We do the same with the card just along as back up in case I need MORE earrings (65 pairs are NOT enough whatever 'Sir' may say!).

three times my card has failed in my bank for things like there was a little nick or break in the card ,and at the weekend ,that was bad enough waiting till the monday , i can only imagine what would happen if it was at the start of a two weeks holiday.
