just reiceved a copy of a property magazine world of property it says that there are plans for a new airport in candolim and a open skies policy signed in 2005 by the british and indian goverments will lead to 40 more weekly flights there are currently 16 a week i just hope and pray that goa is not going to be spoilt forever we went in dec and already noticed a differance from the year before things seem to be moving fast there now fingers crossed it does not happen we love goa for the way things are there progress eh

If the shipwreck is anything to go by, it could be many, many years before anything actually happens.

I was under the impression there were plans to build an airport further north than Candolim.

thats what we heard also like you say it could take years and who knows it may never happen

As you guys have stated,it's all ongoing talks at the moment (same as the River Princess).They are however talking about a massive cash input into Dabolim airport and allowing night time landings,which could cancel out the idea of a new airport.
I think the idea of an airport further north is also for the benefit of the Russians who are buying a lot of land in that area in the hope of turning it into there own little resort.

The planned new airport is at the northern border of Goa with the next state (cant recall it,s name) The proposed airport at Mopa has been talked about for years now The beaches in the next state are unspoiled and large tracts of prime real estate has supposedly been snapped up by the big hotel chains But at India speed it should be many years away, if ever Alan
