Always something else!!

Prevention is helped by the mosquito bite preparations containing Deet. Use loads during the day also.

Its the long term joint pain that sound grim.

but doesnt sound as horrid as Filaria!!!!!! also virulent in Goa and spread by msoquito bite...better known as elephantitus!!! and non curable :yikes our nearby neighbour nearly ended up with a leg amputation last season due to this... two small tablets a year can provide protection...they are given out free by the local authority there in October... they actually knock on doors and hand them out as they are so desperate to prevent its spread and stamp it out in the area!! but when i was chatting to our local DN at the holday clinic in the uk she had never heard of it :duh

I knew a Uk guy who caught Japanese Encephalitis in Goa about 4 years ago.It affects the brain. He got carted off to the nutty home as they thought he had gone mad. A doctor there done some blood test and found out he had Japanese Encephalitis. His dad and bro came out to Goa but he died.he was only in his 20s but was so into drugs .
Chilly i have never heard of Filaria .But just going to look it up.

Chilly,

You say they give tablets out for filaria in October - are they also accessible in November?

Couldn't think of anything worse!
