Hi Colon11 is very nice, apartments are a good size, The one bedroom we stopped 214 was rear facing but had the sun in the afternoon and in the evening. My son had 212 and had the sun on the balconey most of the day. They are well looked after and very well run clean and peaceful. The pool is medium sized but big enough for the size of the complex. The bar is below ground level and the air con works to well, the barman Robert is a nice helpful guy and again it is very clean. We enjoyed our stay there and would use the place again. Food at the pool bar was good and coffee was very nice and a resonable price ,Soft drinks are a rip off anywhere you go . Mama Rosa looked very nice but with young childen we didnt eat there. there are lots of shops and bars/restaurants close by. Please be aware of the timeshare people that gather on the corner as you turn right from the Colon. They can be a pain for the first couple of days but a stern NO and after that they are ok.The were some major works going on as you turn right out of the Colon but hopefully they will be finished in May. The beach is a fair walk either way you walk i would say. 1/4 mile to Troyer to the right. And 1/2 mile to Vistas beach to the left. The is a small train that will take you on a round trip in the resort to help get your bearings it stops by the bank by Colon. Nice safe walk if you turn left out of Coln and walk down the main road go right to the end and turn left bars and restraunts galore all around the shopping centre by the musical fountain. I used to sit and people watch in a small bar more or less opposit Colon11 nice bar with friendly staff. Please ask if you have any questions .Cheers Dave
Getting back to the apartments, I think we were very lucky that we were on the side of the apartment block that got the sun for a lot of the day. Anyone having a pool view in the same block would be in the shade all the time during the winter. It may even be like that in the summer because a map of the apartments was marked Sunny side. There is a lift that comes up beside apartment 308 and when it stops it goes "bing bong" which must be heard by the occupants - most annoying during the night I should think, although there is a strict policy about disturbance and while we were there we didn't hear any loud noises - lovely! Another thing, the road had been pedestrianised outside the hotel so coaches and taxis can't pull up right outside but you get dropped off a few yards away. The taxi fare was 22 euros each way.
The website for the apartments is http://www.apartamentosColon2.com (Hardly worth looking at) and the email address is info@apartamentosColon2.com
