El Faro is situated at the end of the turning opposite the Esmerelda Hotel
Brilliant club for all ages. We went there a couple of months ago for my daughters birthday and she has been every weekend since.
The roof terrace bar is absolutely stunning. With views across Fanabe and cosy seating areas. The club downstairs is well air conditioned and very stylish. Prices for drinks are pretty much the same as any club, even the dives you can find at Veronicas.[ Voddy and coke 7.50 euros.] Plenty of bars so you are not waiting a lifetime to be served, there is also a terrace off the club where you can sit . Definately worth a visit if you want something a bit more upmarket. Dont get there before 1p.m. because it will be empty

El Faro plays a mix of music. The group that went for my daughters birthday ranged from 17 to 48 years old and everyone enjoyed it

Yes you are right, I did mean 1a.m, but as there was a fiesta in my village for four days and nights during the time I replied and was seriously suffering from lack of sleep due to the music/dancing not finishing until 5.30A.M. every day I am sure you will forgive my error

that club sounds promising. back in the day you couldnt wack bobbys or buzbys however...... alas... its no longer the in place (unless its changed and its back in there)
So looking for a new club to go to - feel Tramps which seems to be the new place to go maybe a bit young for me (although when i was 19 - 27 i couldnt get enough of the place)
Going to reef for first time in 2 years on xmas eve until new years day!!
so will give it a blast

El Faro is in a totally different league from Bobby's, Busby's and Tramps. You won't see any of the antics that you would around Veronicas or Starco i.e. drunken youngsters, bottles and glasses all over the pavement, fights, kids throwing up. Definately the place for the more mature clubbers although suitable for the younger more sensible clubbers as well

I will repeat it's location just for you, even though I did say where it is in my first post
Opposite the Esmerelda Hotel in Fanabe there is a dead end turning [there is an Admirals on the corner]. El Faro is at the end of this turning.

Scottb - try it, if the bouncers think you aren't classy enough they'll kick you out
Remember though you are not allowed to wear flip flop style shoes, even expensive ones.

Hi,
Going away for 3 nights with a friend at end of september. We have been looking at costa del sol and majorca due to short flights. But we are worried we won't get the weather. So started thinking about tenerife.
My question is - is a short break (3 nights) unrealistic for tenerife? Has anyone done this or does the long flight time make it a no-go?
We are after nice meals, good nightlife, but not PDLA hectic (we're both in our 30's). Also not too far from airport.
Any suggestions for resort, hotel etc.
Thanks

i done a 3 day break many years aho (about 7 years) and it was the best holiday EVER - as you made the most of it - had your 1st nights out, middle night out and last night out lol and every one is ace as you just go for it knowin your only there a limited time. its soo realistic to do it for 3 nights at end of day its a 4 and a bit hour flight - if you went to say London from there i live (newcastle) it would take around that time anyway.
Go for the reef its fab in Sep

ooh thanks for that. you've got me all excited now!!!!
We're so looking forward to it. We've both got kids and are having a kid free, husband free break for the first time in years. We are the kind of people who will have a laugh wherever we go, whether we're eating in a swanky restaurant, singing kareoke or hitting the clubs. But we're not 18 and we don't want to look/feel out of place.
Which resort would you choose? and can you recommend any hotels/aparthotels? We fancy staying somewhere nice, near the beach, where we can lounge in luxury by the pool and have fun each night.
Thanks

sep is cool not full of kids. just stay in las americas its place to be. Drink around Starcos on a night starting at wigan pier, then irish bar next door, weatherspoons, head to leonados as well its ace singers are great. go to Dubliner at around 12midnight - 1am - band are nest ever. Ive been going to tenerife for over 14 years now - i love it been about 14 times and you'll have a blast.
I love the dubliner (were similar age) is best bar ever (drinks a bit pricey but hey your on hol who cares)
if your doing sep flight and accom know a few places to try for accom - send me a pm and i'll let you know sites - if you already have a few options pm me and i'll advise you on accom - loads of dodgy accom so best to know the crack

also dont think PDLA is full of kids (prob is main summer time) but come end of sep onwards its mostly our age. its ace and about 30 odd euro from airport (only takes about 15 mins if that)
im such an ambassador for the reef only cause i know you will love it - just go for it way forward.
loads of 4 star hotels - whats your budget on accom and dates your thinkin of going? i'll pm you options
