Hey all. Can anyone please advise on where best to go, where to stay and what there is to do in northern france in October half term??? I'm on the verge of persuading the other half to drive/ferry over to France in October half term with our 2 kids and possibly another family (8 of us altogether) and spend a long weekend in a rented house within an hour's drive of the ferry (any ferry!). Without doing any research

I have managed to persuade him on the basis that (1) it will be a very very cheap break, (2) it's somewhere different for us, (3) there's lots for all the family to do, nice restaurants and good shopping, and (4) it will be a fantastic opportunity to stock up on some good wine and beer in time for christmas (think that might be the decider!). Having almost persuaded him, I've just realised that I don't actually know what I'm talking about!
I would really appreciate any thoughts or advice on this.
Thanks - Anice
PS. Alternatively, I am saving the "Hols for £9.50" tokens in The Sun!
