Looked like the hills behind armutalan area directly behind some hotels
which news were you watching
Turkish channel NTV but suspect it will be on most channels by evening news time.
Fire wasnt huge by some standards but proximity to the hotels is a worry.

Just been on the phone to my parents who are there now, they said that the helicopters have been out dropping water since about 3pm, they seem to think it was quite bad, but didn't get that close.

Scary sight, I hope no-one got hurt during the crisis.
so it's started already... mostfires are caused by people, the ground is tinder dry and care has to be taken. It doesn't look that bad, but I hope they will replant with trees. I haven't got a fix on where it is yet, looks like back of Armutalan towards Siteler.
says in the sun newspaper today that club alize and portobello were evacuated , hope everyone is ok
