Have just got back from a week in Icmeler, the first time we have been that time of year. Well, it was just great, weather sunny every day, around the mid 30s.
We had a private transfer from the airport. We think the driver was a F1 fan because the the journey more like a scenic railway ride.
We stayed in The Devamli and although rooms were small they were clean with comfortable beds. The staff lovely as most Turkish people are but Fatima our maid was extra special, not only did she keep the room clean we also got Turkish lessons each day from her.
This time we took our friends with us who had only been to Greek Islands and were never that keen to go to Turkey. Well Turkey WON, by the end of the first day they had fallen in love with Icmeler, could not get over the friendliness of the people and how pretty it was.
Normally we have stayed in hotels on the beach, so this was the first time we stayed in the centre, although it could be noisy at times, we really liked the change.
We would go to Coco Beach front where Messi (Idras) was there to see to our every needs. The only downside, swimmimg, was little fish that liked to take a bite at the legs and often drew blood. They tried to bite me
but they did not have a big enough mouth!!!!
Had a good day trip from Marmaris on a boat for £9. The trip included
a breakfast and lunch with free drinks all day. Good bargain. The boat was only part filled which made it nice, probably gets crowded in peak season as it had a capacity of 72.
Another good trip was to the Turkish Baths in Marmaris where for another £9 you got a sauna, scrub and oil massage which was brilliant.
Icmeler was still quiet although I think it was about the same as when we went in early June.
We ate in The Love Boat each day as this was included in our deal with The Devamli. Although we did not get the full menu but there was plenty of choice for the week, cooked and presented exactly as for guests from outside. We only paid £4 pp per day for a 3 course dinner.
Each night we finished at The Chill Bar where we could sit in comfortable surroundings, nice music that suited our taste with lovely friendly staff. Special thanks to ALL there. Give a little pat to Eve the dog.
In all another great holiday in a great place.
Trouble is, each year we say we will have a change, bit once there we know Icmeler has everything we want from a holiday.
See you next year all being well.
Bookeed last minute with Goldtrail and having read a few iffy reports about them was a little worried. A week after I booked with them they advised the apartments I was going to were closed for season and they offered the DURSUN apartments. I read a few reviews and they seemed OK so went ahead. They are one of the few 2 bedroomed aprtments in Icmeler I belive and for me and my better half there was more than enough space. I will do a full review on the apartments later.
Ate at Captain Bullshits a few times which as always was excellent. Best place I found however was up just beyond the old village, a place called OZZYS, great food service and prices. For lunch ate at CAFE ANNE most days right on the beach, place was always busy lots of Germans seem to eat there and the food was well priced and the cakes, MMMMM
Did the lazy day BBQ which was only 15TL about £5.50 including lunch which was very good. The resort was fairly quiet and although there was some hassle it was always friendly banter and was not as annoying as usual.
The prices in the resort for food I found to be slightly higher than Armutalan, when Iwas there in June but were still excellent, where else in the world can you get a beer for about 40p a pint, although typically it was around £1 still brilliant
First time I have been in October, we normally go late May early June and I would recommend this time of the year. About 25/30 during the day and cool enough at night to sleep with air conditioning.
Roll on next May.

I was really pleased to read BarbHs review as I am off to the Devamli on Monday. The last time I stayed in Icmeler 13 years ago I stayed at the Aqua and hated every minute of it.How many sun beds are on the decked area?.We walk a lot this time of year but might want a couple of hours by the pool to read.I visited Icmeler in May when I was staying in Marmaris and although its grown since I was last there its still a beautiful place.I cant wait as the weather forcast for next week is good.
There was plenty of sun beds at The Devamly, not actually sunbeds but large comfy mattresses. As not many people were there we used to put another attress on top which made it nearly as high as a bed.
There was a news letter which we brought home and just read it. Said that they also had a number of beds on part of the beach. where I do not know!
If you see Fatima tell her Dave and Barbara send their love, sh is a diamond.
We walked up to Black Rock which is past The Marti Hotel and Laguana. Lovely views across the bay.
If the hotel is not fully booked ask for a room at the back, may notbe so noisy.
Hav a good time and let us know what you think.

Hi,I have requested a lower floor because i thought there were no lifts.I have read they are now installed.Have you got an email address so I can request a quiet room?.Is black rock on the way to Marmaris along the coastal footpath?.We walked along this path from Marmaris to Icmeler in May and used to sit on the beach just where the path goes up a small bank. Its my birthday while I we are there, would you recommend eating in the loveboat that evening or is there another resturant you could recommend?.I am looking forward to it now since reading your report, even though the weather reports are now forcasting showers for next week!
I brought a newsletter home but there is no phone number or email address o address. I wanted to email them direct to ask about their family rooms and suites, how much they charge.
The love Boat would be lovely for a birthday, quite romantic with all the waiters dresed in white naval uniform II will pmyou a photo)
The Black Rock is in that particular place, right on top of the slope.
The hotel has a small lift, supposed to carry 4 prople which I thought was more vcomfortable with two!
Did you book with a tour operator> If so perhaps they could request a change of room. The rooms near the Sports Bar are the noisier.
I will have another look on google to see if there are any phone numbers etc.,
