Searched HT and the last comments made on the use of an octopus card were over a year ago. Four of us are off to Hong Kong in just under 4 weeks time and I wondered if people still think they are worth purchasing. We will be there for 3 days and plan to visit places like Stanley and Lantau Island, using public transport rather than an organised trip.

We used them a few years ago and found them great value, especially as you get back what you don't use at the end!
Might be worth checking HK tourism site for up to date info and prices etc, if nobody else has an answer for you
