Ellie Meg noticed earlier today that Portland have got a 4 day sale on 50pounds per person off. I've just check the price for next summer and it's not much more than I've paid for this for this summer. :shock:

Considering the scary prices I am getting for next year I'm wondering if I'll be following your lead and going back next year.

I guess the other poster was probably talking about the B&B & Half Board Hotels. Most AI's seem not to encourage it. I suppose they don't want to risk people running amock at the buffets who havent paid upfront. :shock:

been offered belcekiz beach next whitson for 2 weeks for 2 adults and a child for 1380 that seems a good price cant decide what to do

i have too but its dear, i hate making decisions lol, i love turkey but goin a few times a year in and out you sometimes think shall we go somewhere else for a change but where ?? thats good value, nice weather beaches and people ,lovely scenery etc

For anyone who loves Turkey and want a change try Nessebar in Bulgaria,It is an amazing town dating from the 3rd century.It has loads of excellent resturants and at a cost that is unbelievable,It is like stepping back in time and it is about 10minutes from Sunny beach but a million miles away at the same time.I first saw it in a Yugotours brochure many years ago and managed to visit 2 years ago.A lot of the shopkeepers near our hotel(Marina Palace) were Turkish.The Bulgarians are just as friendly and the prices for food and drink are the best in Europe.

i went to bulgaria about 20 years ago when i took off for 2 years travelling i bet its changed a bit then, i did like it then and have considered going back but have seen bad reports about building work in some areas do didnt have a proper look at prices. i also went to israel and egypt the same time when sharm el sheik was just desert and now its built up so would be nice to go back there too

Ellie,Nessebar is on a peninsular connected to the mainland by a causeway so there is no building work around.The hotel I stayed in was new when I stayed but was built on the site of an old cinema in New Nessebar.It features in the Balkan brochure but I booked it with Kwik travel and they were half what Balkan were charging.The flight was with Balkan air,transfers in a private minibus,and hotel booked with Med hotels all for £259.Balkan price was £485 for same dates.I am tempted to go back in June but I have bought some Turkish lira as it was at a good rate!.I suppose I could always keep it until October!

yes i went to nessebar all those years ago but its difficult to remember as i was travelling so much from 1 country to another and places change to much, i will check this out for may another possibility ,think i will put them all in a hat and pick 1 out lol

Hi Karen . Im back to trying to make my booking for BB for next July tonight. I nearly booked tonight on the Portland site but somethings still making me hesitate. Cant get a direct price of BB for some time. (no prices yet for 2007) I know you had a price off them for oct for about 90 euros for a double room and going by there prices for this year they nearly double for July/aug in which case it would cost me more doing DIY unless i could hold out for a bargain flight

but didnt you say somewhere that you had got a cheaper price from somewhere??? for just the accomodation??

If you do find it or if anyone knows of anwhere else other than portland/thomson or Direct with BB that i can get a price from i would be very grateful. im quite happy to do DIY if i can find somewhere that takes bookings!! who is reputable and has got a good price.

I havnt been able to find anyone else yet
