I'm back from three wonderful weeks in a tent on Varca Beach. one of my favorite passtimes is taking long walks along the beach, sadly this was not possible last weekend, due to the large amounts of oil being washed up along the shore. This is not the first time I have seen it happen, and it is always in April. I've tried to find out why, and the Locals say it is caused by the boats dumping waste oil,and April is the time of year to do it. Whether the Northern beaches are affected i don't know. but the area from Varca to Benaulim was very polluted last weekend. In future I will make sure I am away by the end of March.
ps--- The rest of the time was great as usual but the hottest I have known it the Locals said it was so hot the Hens were laying boiled eggs
