After a week in Olu Beniz we are making our way to Bodrum. Can anyone give us some ideas on the best way of getting there? There will be seven of together.
Thank You
its along way have you looked at flying if not coach
I'm not sure you could fly as this would probably involve going via Istanbul. We did it by car last year and it's not a bad drive. If you get the coach, it's a fairly good route. You would have to go into Fethiye to get the coach to Bodrum - it may take about 5.5 hours and there will be regular stops along the way.
Flying really wouldn't be an option. As Jakki says you would have to go via Istanbul and it would take a lot longer than by bus. The long distance buses are very good so I would say that would be the best way to go
turkish airlines do fly from dalaman to bodrum but the cheapest flight is about £390 return its cheaper to fly back to england
But as Kedi and I both said, even with Turkish airlines, flying from Dalaman to Bodrum involves going up to Istanbul and then back down to Bodrum - it isn't a direct flight.
The coaches are excellent cheap and frequent infact we are travelling from antalya to marmaris on tuesday for 40 lire each, the pamukkale lines seems to have the best reputation,i should imagine the trip would take around five hours via mugla with a few stops along the way, just enquire at fethiye bus station there usually is no need to pre book you just pay and ride as you would here.flying is not an option really as you would have to go via istanbul we were considering going to syria for a week and then flying from aleppo or damascus to dalaman but all routes led to istanbul first the same with antalya, however the current political situation and visa restrictions have put a stop that sadly.good luck
just returned from turkey, antalya was fantastic the journey to marmaris took six hours on a pamukkale coach refreshments were included in the ticket price(40 lire each)there was loads of leg room and the journey flew by.IF you prebook your ticket at fethiye bus station a day or so before you leave they will probally send a courtesy bus to pick you up in olu, dont count on this however as we came from antalya to marmaris they might not provide this service, in fethiye. Please dont be apprehensive about using theese coaches i cant praise the service highly enough,i would estimate your journey will be around 5 hours but it will fly by good luck.
the coach service is first class for the price and you see lots
