this does tend to cause some problems as they are not very english friendly
They seem to want to make a huge profit on the backs of the staff and unwitting customers who have paid for all inclusive and end up begging for the basics such as water.

i must admit im not a fan of the rusky's
we went here or a week on may 5th. I have to admit that although we did enjoy ourselves and that the hotel was spotless we did find a few things that that werent as good as we expected from the reviews. The bar staff were quite slow and at times ignored you, the maids did clean well but never seemed to remember to leave 3 lots of towels even though there were obviously 3 of us in the room!! and we had to ring reception 3 times for toilet rolls as she didnt leave any. We also got back from a day out 2 find our room unlocked and the balcony door open.We didnt have any trouble getting water to start with but it got more difficult towards the end of the week, I did hear alot of people complaining in the dining room saying that it wasnt as good as before. Having never been to turkey or all inclusive before we didnt really have anything to compare it with so maybe we were lucky going the first week !!! Having only been 3 star in Spain before i would have rated it about the same
Thanks
When we went to the Belcekic Beach we were told that they may be coming there, as they were in contract negotiations with the hotel. I am a bit disgusted at the Turks as the British have been loyal to Olu Deniz, Fethyie region for a number of years & it would now appear that they are turning their backs on us. Just goes to show there is no loyalty in business. It's not like we don't pay a lot of money for our holidays to hotels like the Belcekic Beach, Olu Deniz Resort Hotel, Lykia World and other Superior AI hotels. Most Brits don't want to have to fight for their food amongst those that wont queue etc. It doesn't make for a relaxing fortnight which most want on their annual hoilday. It will be interesting to see what it means for the turkish tourist industry in the long run.
Im a little confused . Are you saying that olu deniz resort and sun city now have russian management ????
I truely hope this settles down as both are still heavily featured in the brouchures Unfortuntely though the turks Im afraid are not known for their good business sense.
When I was at the BB it wasn't the management they were changing as far as I could tell. It was that the current management were negotiating letting contracts to Russian TO's when their current ones with the likes of TUI come to an end.
It was only dinner table talk though, although it was mentioned by more than one party over the fortnight. You can imagine how well it was going down with the people who had been there 7 and 8 years on the trot.
Chris
I didnt realise it was that bad chris. We always encounter a few Russians in Olu but never on the scale you get them in Egypt . Im gutted
The thing is Lyn I dont know if it was just talk you know how it is with dinner times in hotels like the Belcekic where you get a lot of repeaters. People start to panic. It might be a storm in a tea cup. I know it's one of your favorite resorts. I do hope it doesn't go quite like Sharm though.
The BB is still the same as ever, had a wonderful Turkish bath there and a couple of full body massages.
The Olu Deniz Resort Hotel is now run by the Russians on a three year lease. The managers walk about the place and the staff are jumping through hoops to please them... but not the customers. The staff as a whole seem to have got a raw deal. The fault lies with the management. In our second week they took on more staff and gave a couple of the staff 'bigger badges' - unfortunately they gave them to the most inhospitable and not the most helpful staff so we were back to the beginning again - with the staff that knew what to do unable to do it because a few 'jobsworths' were pouncing about with a nice shiny badge
For those that know the hotel manager from previous years, he was sacked on April 14th and got a job as the beach manager doing a massive clean up program.
Apparently there were no staff on April 14th, Mustafa from reception is still there and a couple of the others but they could not take half pay so many had to leave.
This was not dinner table chat - it was 1-2-1 with our Turkish contacts and friends.
On the brighter side, and my jug is always half full(of Efes!) it may get better now we have complained
Ron
What I meant was the it was dinner time talk at the BB when i stayed there that the Russians were coming and the regular hoilday makers to that particular hotel were very worried, so I am pleased to hear that it hasn't changed, as it has a lovely ambience, something that money can't always buy. The Manager at the BB was one special guy and you could tell the staff loved him to bits and would go the extra mile for him. That's the best way to get your staff to do their best for the guests. Not halve-their wages.

Not offended matey I just wanted to make sure that everyone knows this is not rumour. My take on life is "if it aint broke don't fix it!". The Russians made a huge error, they could have had a hand over period so that everyone knew what to do - you just can't run a hotel with all new staff, they have not even built up a rapport with each other so how can they cope with customers? They have no support structiure in place and there is little trust at the moment.
The minute we benefited by having a decent member of staff they sent them back to the Sun City.
C'est la vie! We had a fantastic time because the people we were with really made our holiday.

I was going to book this hotel last year for this august as i had been to the sun city in olu and enjoyed the resort but i left it a bit late and the availability had gone for 2 kids and 2 adults.Ayway by the sounds of it i had a lucky escape.Ended up getting a better deal in a different part of turkey
Its all the brits displacing them from side and their favorite hotels.
I have booked into this hotel for 2 weeks in july. Really worried about comments. Do you think it will be ok by then. I have not been to this area of turkey before although visited Turkey 8 times. I only booked this hotel for the terrific reviews, now starting to wish I hadn't.
There is a thread on trip advisor about this - I don't think it's just the guests that are a problem. Buzz Travel in Oludeniz are no longer taking bookings for the hotel full stop.
we went there last august, the facilities were good, but the food and beverages second rate. Quite suprised the russians are there as there was a lot of turkish families, we have booked b & B for this year as we disliked the hotel so much last year we went out most times,
bibmamtam - the way I see it is it can only get better, and it did get better towards the end of the second week
finding nemo - what about Akyaka, Turunc or Bitez?
All the best
Ron
