All those flights were booked through British Tour operators wanting to charge a minimum of £10 for food. I wonder who pockets the money they make from charging for in-flight meals which are provided as standard? Seems to me it's another way of squeezing a little more money out of passengers!
I'm assuming as I'm travelling with First Choice Airways (rather than a Turkish airline) in May and I opted out of paying for an in-flight meal I'd better take a picnic with me.... wonder what an egg mayo sandwich would smell like at 35,000 feet?

Mazz
food is very basic
