We do have a few members who have had glasses made up for them and have been really pleased with them.
thanks i am due a pair some scroat nicked mine out of the car..
I used SK Optik in Ao Nang, Krabi for a pair of vari focals...was told they were cheaper there than in UK. Optician had all the latest testing gear...better than UK actually. WHen frames broke due to design fault I sent them back from UK by post and they replaced free of charge.
thanks ill definelty be buying a pair do you think they will be able to do reaction lenses..
Can't see why not...mine were Essilor lenses which are pretty sophisticated optics. I was suprised how sophisticated the opticians were in terms of equipment.
I know people who take out their contact lense prescription and save a fortune buying a years supply (same brands - do haggle with opticians as well!).
All have modern eye testing machines, and an eye test is free. But they often have these machines because you don't need any real skill to operate them. If you want a good eye test then head to one that has a qualified optician running the show, often the ones that aren't part of a large chain. They'll give you a test the old fashioned way, wearing the big metal Harry potter frames and trying interchangeable lenses; as well as with a machine.
As Sam mentioned, you can & should haggle the price in opticians. They wont be offended.
