Hi
We had are second holiday at Gary Lambden Villa in Kissimiee Orlando, we found that the second time round the villa was very dirty, whether they have a problems with the managent service out there we don't know, but we would not stay there again now, the shower room was full of hair and all the carpets were very dirty, also we left behind an expensive model, I emailed the owners about this but never received a reply, not very professional.....I guess the cleaner would have taken it.
I would say that if you go to Orlando and stay in a villa, you will definatly need a car or 4x4 to get about, it's so big out there you can't just walk down the road, the highways are too dangerous, and the buses not very reliable, for people looking to go fishing you will definatly need a 4x4 with a trailer, you can hire boats out there, which we found is most needed as there are not many fishing spots to fish in, if you have a boat you can go all around the lakes, Lake Louise is a great to fish with many lakes on it, you only have about 4 swims to fish in though which get very busy with the locals, which is why a boat would be useful to get out in.
I recommend taking a trip to the disney parks, but once was enough for all of us, second time round we had enough, theres only so much Disney you can take, my 10 year old loved Universal better than Disney, more rides for the older ones, but be careful as the parks and food are very expensive, may be a good idea to take Lunch.
A trip down to the Keys is about an 8-9 hour drive, we went straight down to Key West, a lovely interesting place, great for lovers of fishing as there are so many marinas with people hiring boats for fishing trips, we did'nt need to pre book as there are so many offering to take you out at a good price, the beaches were nice to, we went to smathers beach and watched the sunset, the resturants can be expensive as they cater just for the tourists, but the food is great.
We found out that they are building a Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, think it's near to Disney, and there's going to be a new under water park, we will go back in a couple of years, but to a different villa this time round.
Hi Lou Lou
It is not actually going to be a Harry Potter theme park. They are converting one of the areas at the Islands of Adventure (Universal) into a 'Harry Potter' area. It won't be open for a long time yet I believe.
I think its going to incorporate part of the islands of adventure, around the dueling dragons area. But they are going to be extending that area and new car parks. It was supposed to open late 2009, but now it may be early 2010.
http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/index.html if anyone is interested. My feeling is that they have left it rather late. They should have started doing this a lot earlier. By the time it is open, the films will be nearly all done I should think. Already the books are finished. I suspect that interest in Harry Potter may be fading by the time this land opens! But I'm sure we shall all enjoy new rides and attractions anyway.
Yes wendy wu, you are right. it is going to be in the Duelling dragons area, but extended. There is more info on the Universal website here Post a Reply
