Clearly not!!!!
Yes - I live in Halkidiki and Ouranopolous is on the third peninsular called Mount Athos. The village is the gateway to Mount Athos which is the Peninsular solely inhabited by monks. A 1000 year old tradition still exists on that peninsular and over 1700 monks reside there. Ouranpolous has many tavernas, shops etc. and is a bustling tourist village in the summer only. The daily (Summer only) Mount Athos excursion boats moor at Ouranopolous bringing a multi-national tourism. During the Winter months it is very quiet indeed with only a few shops open, which service the monastaries. Hope this has been of help. Oh, by the way, Prince Charles visits Mount Athos every May for 1 week - for meditation purposes!
