We are going to the hotel Kanta tomorrow for 2 weeks with our son who is 13. This will be our 2nd time in the port. We stayed at the Golden Soviva last time and it was fantastic for kids, the pool was very large with water slides and shoots but it was quite a distance from the center. I cannot comment on the Marhaba as i have never stayed there but it looked lovely when we went for a couple of drinks one night. I have just read the latest hotel review that someone has posted about the Kanta and now i feel quite concerned. However, i will make up my own mind when we get there. I will post my own, honest review when we get back. We may even take another look at the Marhaba too.

If you read this forum in detail you will realise Tunisia probably isn't the best place for evening entertainment. The hotel as two nice clean pools and the animation team work hard to keep everyone entertained.
The food was more than satisfactory for us and we particularly liked the fact that on half board we could eat in at lunchtime and try out the numerous restaurants around the marina all of which were excellent in both quality and price.
I would certainly recommend (and am constantly doing so) the country, resort and hotel. Relax and enjoy your holiday. It seems to me that some people are only happy when complaining! Yes it is different to the UK and the parts of Europe I've been too (the nearest is probably Turkey) but that surely is the attraction? If you want English sausages and chips with everything go to Blackpool. If you want to experience a whole new culture, explore a fascinating country and meet some very friendly people go for it!
I noticed that the last reviewer of Kanta stated they prefered Florida and didnt like Tunisian food. Thats fine if thats your thing but you can t possibly compare Tunisia to Florida. They are two completely different extremes. The food is going to be different of course. I nearly died when people asked is there a MacDonolds .
Personally the USA is not my idea of a perfect holiday and I much prefer exotic countries such as Thailand Tunisia Egypt. Morroco is next on the list
You get some awful complainers visting Tunisia who hate the country . I really don t see why people complain . I felt like saying to them to go back home if they don t like it.
Both hotels are good though Kanta overall get higher ratings on tripadvisor but marhaba looks nice in my opinion. i would go for either of them
You will have a great time!
we stayed at the Marhaaba Palace last year. I wouldn't say it particularly catered for kids, but it was a lovely hotel. Food was great, with a good selection of buffet style food - the kids would love the puddings, etc. It has a wonderful indoor and outdoor pool, and is right on the beech, just a stroll from the centre. Haven't stayed at the Kanta - but would highly recommend the Marharaba Palace.
Thanks a million for the above info regarding Kanta Hotel and Marhaba Palace Have booked for a week to the Kanta Hotel. Hope i don't regret it ......
