Hi,
anyone been to Paleokastritsa lately. Visited on an island tour quite a few years ago and remember that it was a beautiful place. The perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. However don't remember much more than the scenery.
Are there a few tavernas/ bars and restaurants in the resort. I know it's quiet but was wondering whether there were a few eateries and bars to while away the evenings. Also seem to remember it was very hilly, coming down into the resort. Is all the accomodation on the hill or are there hotels and appartments in the resort itself? Could do with a few recommendations please.
We've only gone to Paleo for a daytrip, but there's no shortage of eateries - but you do pay for the view (which is stunning I admit).
You will probably find Paleokastritsa quite different since your last visit some years ago. It is a long resort with accommodation, tavernas, restaurants all along the level main road. You will have no problem in finding places to eat and drink.
There are also numerous hotels along the coastal strip or tucked away in the little bays.
As you say it is very beautiful resort but at the risk of upsetting Paleo enthusiasts of which there are many, for us it is a place to visit not to stay.
We visit every year usually driving down the stunning road from Makrades. We stay a few hours but for us the numerous coaches spoil it. It gets too busy.
We prefer the quieter Corfu resorts to stay in, many of which are in beautiful scenery. See http://www.agiosgeorgios.info; http://www.arillas.com; http://www.sanstefanos.co.uk for just a few.
Thanks for your replies. Just booked Kassiopi instead, but will certainly pay Paleo a visit for a few hours.
Hi, I expect I have spelt it wrong! but does anyone know if there is anywhere in Paleokatritsa bay that you can get married? I went there a few yeard ago and fell in love with the place, am looking to book my wedding in September 2007 and would definitely like to consider it.
What a gorgeous place to have your wedding. However, haven't heard of anywhere that holds weddings there. Hope you're lucky and find somewhere to have your dream wedding.
