come on Cazz you should know by now, there is no duty free within the EU, not used the new airport myself yet but watch out for the excessive charges by the taxi's [unless you have a transfer/hire car organised]
I don't usuall buy anything from Duty Free but love browsing Are the facilities better than Larnaca? We are hiring a car but picking up from hotel
Are the facilities better than Larnaca?
No they aren't, but I do understand that they are better than the *old* Larnaca airport, which, let's face it, wouldn't be too difficult
the new larnaca airport is a vast improvement on thr last one and the eateries are first class even has its own bakery
Travelled last two years in June through Paphos airport. All was fine. small but no real problems. The only downside is the need to travel by bus from plane to terminal and back again on return journey. Did buy in 'duty free' (I know there is no duty free in the EU) and the prices for some things were good, especially special offers. But it is much cheaper to buy in paphos in some of the mall shops.
Larnaca is much improved inside but personally think the parking is worse now than before - but Paphos has fared much better in the parking direction for collecting and dropping off.
Only seen the arrivals area of Paphos so can't help with the Duty Free but prices in Larnaca are slightly lower with some products. Bombay Sapphire gin is cheaper to buy in Lysiotis - our local supermarket in Episkopi (Limassol).
