Paphos is a lovely place for a holiday. There are lots of eating places and bars. Most of the nightclubs are on Bar St which is easy to find. There is an aquarium, bird sanctuary where you can see parrot shows etc., a waterpark which is a lot of fun. The walk along the promenade is beautiful with lots of little cafes and bistros and the harbour area is a must. There is so much in Paphos to see and do I think you'll have a wonderful time.
If you go onto the Hotel Reviews page you will find all you need to know on your accommodation. The links at the top of the page.

This link should give you info on all the water parks CSM, and various other things. Yes it's true about the pelican lol, he likes food especially yours. As the pendlewitch says go down the back streets and find the real Paphos, eating out will be cheaper. Enjoy Paphos, it's one of my favourite places.

The waterpark is about a 5-10 min bus ride from the Nereus. All fares are 70cents!
Don't forget whilst you are there to go to the mosaics, really worth visiting and only about £cy2 to go in. I think its far more interesting than Tomb of Kings.
what about beaches, beaches in cyprus are great from my experience but what is the best beach. do they have watersports and stuff????
I stayed at the Nereus 3years ago and the location is excellent. You are literally a three minute walk from the bottom of Bar street. On the way there are a few restaurants and bars. If you come out of the main entrance of the hotel and turn left and then turn right about fity yards further down you will see The George and Dragon pub which overlooks a little square. Across from that pub is the Waterhole which was the starting point for many of my nights out!! For about a mile from there it is all bars and restaurants/take aways etc so you should have no problems finding somewhere suitable. The Nereus is split into two bits with the rooms in the Hotel itself in need of a lick of paint (maybe already done as it was three years ago). They have recently finished a new block of apartments, which I am told are very nice. We stayed in an apartment across from the main building and it was very good. We had a fantastic holiday. Beaches wise, we walked about ten minutes from the hotel to the beach in front of the Alexnder the Great Hotel. It was sandy and fairly quiet most of the time. Otherwise, beaches (in my opinion before anybody else takes offence!!) are not really Paphos's strongest point. We must have liked it because we get married on the 22nd June this year in Paphos and are staying at the Alex so guess we will be on that beach every day again!!
If I can help with anything else let me know.

Has anyone been to coral bay cos i heard that is suppose to be good?

We didnt eat at the hotel because we never do!! When we go to any country we try to eat at restaurants outside the hotel because we like a bit of variation. We did try the breakfast one day and...well let's just say we tried the breakfast once!!! With so many places doing the good old English slap up for a few quid it didnt mater. (The O bar omelettes were top notch and when only a fry up will do, the Rose pub did the job) I have heard that the chef from the restaurant across the road from the hotel is now being turned into an Internet cafe and he is now back working in the hotel. From previous reveiws I read that can only be a good thing!! There are so many good restaurants in the area that, unless you are half board, I cant see any reason to stay in the hotel. A few of my favs were Trata (2mins away) and Alkion but we didnt have a bad meal while we were there. The ALkion is opposite the Robin Hood pub which is very popular and just down from the main bars and clubs.
We went to Coral Bay once but it was a bit crowded and wasnt spectacular. Worth having a look and the bus should only cost 50c each one way and takes about ten minutes. I dont think the bus goes much further so you cant go too far wrong (I may be wrong so check when you are there) There are a couple of bus stops close by either down past Macdonalds on the main road or up by the harbour.
The transfer should take no longer than half an hour because you should be one of the first off. I think we stoopeed at the Anemi,Ledra Beach and then straight to the Nereus. We did have a 16 hour delay on the way out though so I was past caring at that point!!
We leave Paphos on the 29th June to go up to the east coast for a few days so we'll try to make sure there some beers left!!!
Jamie
It will be very hot in late june so be prepared. Only bad thing about Paphos was the traffic especially in the evening. Public transport to Coral Beach is OK
thanks again jamie, i like to go to differnet places when i go on holiday to eat, and try different things. so any local food that is worth a go?
And do make sure there are some beers left, i am planning on having quite a few during the week i am there!!
Anyone hired cars in paphos? what sort of price is it, would be good to go somewhere else on the island for the day.
Good shout hiring a car. We had one for three days and it came with full tank of petrol (bit of a ripper but there you go) cost us 90cyp for a renault megane with air con that had less than 1000 miles on the clock. The cypriot drivers get a bit of bad press but I thought the roads between paphos/limassol/larnaca and up to protars and Ayia Napa were first class. Dual carriageway all the way and hardly any traffic (apart from Limassol roundabouts). It took just under two hours to get from Paphos to Protaras. On the Paphos Post site everybody raves about Georges Rent a car but I cant remember the url for his website sorry.
Foodwise, depends what kind of stuff you like really. Most of the restaurants in an around the tourist area serve "cypriot specialities" like meze which I am ashamed to say I have never tried (been to Cyprus four times as well). All the tavernas will offer a variety of things generally meats cooked on the charcoal grill, fresh fish of many variety, and things like Kleftiko (Lamb cooked in the oven with herbs),stifado (rich stew),dolmades(stuffed vine leaves) and plenty of souvla (lamb/chicken/pork and herbs cooked on a skewer). Personal favourite is Sword Fish or souvla. Hungry just thinking about all that!!!

George's link is http://www.easyrentacarltd.com/home.htm
There are other firms that have copied George with Easy in thier title and Orange colours, these do not belong to George and do not appear to give such a good deal and service. Beware, some firms give a quote then add insurance VAT on top, so although they appear cheaper this is not always the case. Make sure any quote includes everything.
Ok i am 22 so that might be difficult, although my experience from renting cars abroad (corfu) is that they dont seem to care too much about your age. we'll have to see...
You have to be over 21 for most cars and 25 for a selected few unless it has changed in the past year
Are there any sites at all that are solely devoted to Paphos?
There's the Paphos Post but you must join first :-
is there any sites where i can register, but not have to sign up to lots of other different services?
