Hi, We ahve been to Nidri in Lefkas 3 times its a great place to relax not too busy just a nice place to relax.
The Palm Beach Hotel is in a great location it has fantasic views and its only 3-5 mins walk the the tarernas where you will find they are excellent.
Plenty of boat trips and the local bus is very good to get around the island.
We are in our 40s and we find its just great to relax without being too quite.
We ahve been to Turkey many time our faverat plas in Kas and Kalkan.
Parga visited it for a day it was very nice the beach were great and you could get to paxos which is a lovely place how ever it was more expensive then Lefkas and it was very hilly we were talking to some people we meet in Nidri and they had done the two centre and they said that Parga was nice but becarful where you stay as some places can be far out from the town or up near the castle which is very hilly.
Hope this helps Melanie

Just booked 2 weeks in Nidri for next July :hyper :pele :hyper :hyper :D :D :pele :glynis and was wonering how long it would take to drive to Sivota on the mainland and perhaps stop overnight if anyone has any info on rooms or where they can be booked. We are also hoping to do a bit of "hopping" to Meganissi and Ithaka. I know the ferries go quite regularly from Nidri harbour but just wondered if anyone had any info about rooms for just a couple of nights on either island.

We have stayed in Nidri as part of one of our split holidays with Parga. I am afraid that we have not stayed on either of your islands but would give a word of warning about Meganissi. Don't be as stupid as me. We caught a boat there on a day trip from Nidri and I left my coat there with the passports in the pocket. The island was then stormbound for 3 days!
Don't ever try replacing a passport unless you are within easy reach of Athens.
The same boat skipper (who eventually retrieved my coat for me, bless him) recommended that I try swimming off Skorpios. "Lovely warm water". I dived off the boat and the water was lovely and warm for the first half an inch before I hit the snow melt off the Pindos mountains. No quick way back onto the boat, even if I could have moved any limbs.
The moral of this sad story is:
Careful of the Ionian water temperatures until later in the year unless you are swimming off a shallow beach.
Yes, I still love that part of Greece.

as a "veteran of 24 years, I am sure you will find that Parga will give you all you need too. Plenty of variation to suit all tastes and as we stay "up by the castle" every year I can assure you it's no problem, and easy walking either down to the main beach Valtos or the town centre.. either way it's 5 minutes!
