I used to work in Pernera and lived in an apartment just up the road from the Pernera Beach. I'm familiar with the hotel as we used to sunbathe there sometimes! The pool area is lovely and overlooks the sea. The beach just by the hotel (hence it's name!) is a nice little beach. I worked as a children's rep in another hotel and we used to take the children down to the beach (low season when it wasn't too hot)! It is a nice sandy and safe beach and the sea is shallow and calm. Just a short walk up the road is the main area of Pernera where you will find plently of family friendly bars and lovely restaurants. Also a bus stop to take you into Protaras or Ayia Napa for less than £1cyp! I'm sure you will love it there :-)
Ditto as above, i also went there and paid extra in resort for a sea view, it was breath-taking, it is very children orientated and the pool area is nice, also right next door to the diving shop which my daughter passed her training. The only down fall at the time was the food, we ate out mostly, but it may have improved since if going half board.
Is the area Pernera quite busy? And could we walk to the center of Protaras in the evening or is to far away
Google Maps - just zoom in for a close-up. Remember these images are about four years old.
Protaras is the built-up area around the big bay just south-east of the arrow, about a mile and a half away.

We walked to the centre of protaras most evenings, a lovely walk along the sea, and walked the road way back. A lot of the shops are or were a lot cheaper than protaras and ayia napa and it isnt as noisy, but there are some great little restaurants and on route to protaras is mini golf.
Is there any supermarkets in the near of the Pernera Beach Hotel?
If you hire a car you can get there in a few mins from Pernera.
There is one right on the doorstep,at least there used to be,albeit a fairly small one(Andreas?).There's also one at the Captain Pier Apts across the road and one at the Farkonia Apts up to the right as you come out.The nearest "large" supermarket is up on the main road next to the Elamaris and there's one across from Livas Apts which is down to the left on the main Pernera road(walk up from Pernera Beach to the T junction, Kartanas Restaurant is opposite) and turn left. It's down a few yards on the other side of the road). There's probably 5 or 6 within a few hundred yards.
Yes my good friend Andreas is still there, bless him, he cannot do enough for you. if you are interested in Diving, there is a good school next door to the hotel, my daughter passed hers and really enjoyed it. All the pool activity was done in the Pernera beach pool, apart from the sea.
Thank's for all the info,it's much appreciated, can't wait for the 22nd July.
Just wondering if anyone know's if there is a fridge in the room's at The Pernera Beach Hotel?
Just asked daughtr who has stayed there and she said no.
That's a shame. Do you know if it's possible to rent one and if so, how much did it cost? Just thinking of those hot, humid nights in Protaras!!!!
Not sure Poley will ask her and see for you.
Cheer's Kath.
We had a stocked fridge in ours, but paid extra for it, about £12 a week if i remember right.
