Claire my apartment is nigh on opposite there (above the Chinese) and I was there last October when the fire happened.

I'd only been asleep an hour when I was woken up by it about 5am.

I've already made a mental note to go there for a meal as I heard they were good beforehand when it was Spartacus but the fire occurred before I had a chance to go in.

The Cordon Blue was also burnt down and has been rebuilt. This was one of our favourite restaurants in previous years, so we are looking forward to going there again in September.

Claire - we'll be there in 4 weeks, will make a point of trying to find the phoenix and popping for a keo or two :glynis

:glynis Same here............ Im sure that we shall pop In while we

Unless its changed it was a restaurant more than a bar before the fire.

I will definitely be going in there.

I may even try there breakfast as so far I haven't found a decent breakfast in Cyprus so maybe as they are Brits it will taste as it should.

I think my only complaint about Cyprus is that I haven't found a decent tasting breakfast but then thats just my taste buds probably.

No way will I be cooking, I dont even make a cup of coffee when i'm on holiday lol.

I'll give Pheonix a go as its right across the road so easy to crawl over to after a heavy night in Protaras. :D

Louise it's called the Yianna Marie Restaurant. When I've been and not stayed at the Sunrise Beach we've had breakfasts (and lunches and dinners lol) there and it's lovely. Lovely setting overlooking the sea.

I've not looked at that link as a whole before, it's got some lovely views on it!! :D

The bar meals at night were lovely too. From memory, I think a three course set menu was CYP 6.50 which I think is pretty good (and I can recommend the chicken curry !) You will receive such a warm welcome too - in all top class service from very nice people.

Cardiff Lad - Do you stay above the Chinese on the corner (name escapes me but begins with a K) when in Pernera?

Oh and by the way Cardiff lad, I'm pretty fussy and had tried breakfast in both Knights and the Windmill - Phoenix beats them both by a mile (the lure of fried bread helped too !)
I will post a review of our accommodation too once I'm a bit more organised (Elamaris.) Very good at what they do but would hate to be there in the height of the Summer, I would imagine it would be a bit manic (i.e. nowhere near enough sunbeds, struggled to cater just now and it was the first week of the season.)

Yes Claire, the name looks a bit rude Komfukios. :D

I just got what you meant about the name - thank God my 12 year old nephew didn't spot that, we would never have heard the end of it !

To be fair its a great location, i've got a massive balcony and a lovely apartment to use.

Its in a perfect place on the main street of Pernera and nice and close for Protaras.
