hi, i know what you mean, i am going to cala millor on 11th august with other half and 3 kids 15,14,12 and every review i look at says something about full of germans. i don't have a problem with this. the resort must be good if the germans want to visit. we are staying in a private apartment, booked through owners direct. i am sure the children will meet new friends as it will be the summer hols and not all people visiting cala millor, bona and sa coma will be german. we are going to hire a car so we can visit other places. if you do choose to go there, tell me what it was like as you travel before me.

Hi jbart, Cala Millor is predominately German tourists but Cala Bona/ Sa Coma is mostly Brits and a mix of Germans. I love the east coast resorts but I also like to go to Santa Ponsa. A different holiday, lovely beach, closer to the airport very few Germans lots of Irish and Scots all having good time. CBG

Bamburghsue - there are sooooooo many eating places in Cala Bona/Cala Millor that you will honestly be spoilt for choice. All tastes are catered for - English, Italian, Chinese, Spanish - the works and whether you are walking along the promenade, the main drag in Cala Millor or the back road between Cala Millor and Cala Bona you'll see loads of restaurants. The only problem you'll have is choosing where to eat!

Our own fave haunts are CHEERS (Cala Millor), Smugglers Bar (Cala Bona), London Inn (Cala Bona), Beachboys Bar (Cala Millor) and KFC and Burger King also get our custom as well as Supermaket C'an Pedro (on back road next to Bonamar) where Pedro does a mean sandwich made to order. We're pretty unadventurous eating wise and tend to stick with the places we know and love year in and year out but there are literally hundreds of places you could try.

There are a lot of Germans in the resort but you tend to find the vast majority stay at the southern end of Cala Millor - if you walk down the main drag in Cala Millor you'll see the difference (and feel it in someways too) as the majority of bars/restaurants are German but there's the odd British bar thrown in for good measure. I personally don't like the feel of the place at the far end of the resort but that's probably just me being me.

You'll have a fantastic time - we go back year after year as it's such a lovely family friendly resort - if I won the lottery I'd move there in a heartbeat - Germans and all :)

bamburghsue, tis is spot on with her reply. We all have our favourite eating places, there is so many to choose from, but the harbour area at Cala Bona is lovely. A personal favourite of mine is Antic in S'illot a lovely setting and an extensive menu not the cheapest but quality. I stayed at the far end of Cala Millor a few years ago we had a good time but we were the only english people in the hotel and everything was geared for the germans ,the entertainment, menu and reception staff spoke poor english. The east coast is lovely not too busy, ideal for a relaxing holiday. CBG

Hi everyone,
We are also going to Cala millor this year, have been to Magalluf Palma Nova, Santa Ponsa and Alcudia but never the east coast. We are booked into the Atalaya apartments, has anyone stayed here at all?

Where are the best places to eat? What excursions can you go on from this area? Can you go to Son Amar from here?

thank you
Shirley

Bongo,(Shirley) Rose and Crown pub is close to your apartments for a nice meal and lots of other eateries, don't forget to go to Cala Bona to try the resaturants there and Antic in S'illott. i haven't stayed at Atalaya but as they are thr Protur chain they will be good. last year we stayedat prtur hotel Bonamar and this year to Protur Palmeras Playa in Sa Coma ,have you looked on the protur website and done the virtual tour? Yes you can go to Son Amar also boat trips and a good local bus service.PHEW !!! think thats all your questions answered if not you know where I am. CBG

Hi Tis :wave

Yes we are returning for our 4th time :D
We just LOVE Cala bona/millor and just couldn't imagine going anyway else at the moment.
We are meeting up with our holiday friends that we have made over the last few years and just wish 28th June to arrive quickly ;)
When are you going to be out there ?

Hi Bongo

We stay at the Hotel Bonamar in Cala Bona which belongs to the protour chain.
Last year went to the Atalaya apartments to see some of their entertainment which we enjoyed very much !
Sorry can't comment on the appartments but as like other protour properties we found the reception and bar area very clean to their usual high standards

HTH and enjoy :sun2

Hi jbart,

Would recommend Sa Coma and Calor Millor to anyone. Stayed at Palmeras Playa last June in Sa Coma and loved the whole area and hotel, especially S'illot for restaurants. Would disagree that Sa Coma is mostly Brits and a mix of Germans. When we were at the Palmeras there were very few Brits there and the children's entertainment was mostly in German. In Sa Coma, in the bars etc. (except Brit bars) and shops we found that the first language they spoke to you in was German, but everywhere you went they also spoke excellent English. The fact that the resort catered mostly for the German market made no difference what so ever and we had a fantastic time and would definitely return.
