did you order these flowers from the TO whilst away???

what were the description of the flowers as advertised to you?? did you complain whilst there???

we ordered them via their official service, they were boxed up at the airport, and the first day they looked great. then they just died so quickly, we gave her the instructions, and she's worked with plants for years, so they weren't mistreated. A real disappointment.

I'm not entirely sure what your after here futtbuck.

Are you saying that you feel you are due recompense and would consider taking action against the tour operator (legal I assume?) because you bought some flowers from them that died after 6 days?

I must admit mate I'm no gardener, I know nothing about gardening, I don't even actually have a garden... but what I do know is that half the arrangements I buy me bird and me mum die in the same time or less. I don't know, maybe I'm just buying them from the wrong place :S

Jazz.

the thing is, that in the writeup on the thomson highlights leaflet, it "guarantees they will brighten up you home for weeks" Now normally, as you said, things may die, but with a writeup like that, surely they should be expected to do as so ?

Why dont you contact the TO with your complaint? You have nothing to lose.

You have the same legitimate complaint as you would have if you'd bought flowers from anywhere else. Contact them and ask for a refund, you have nothing to lose.

Besides which they need to know if customers are not satisfied with the good they are receiving and they will think everything is hunky dory if people don't let them know otherwise.

By all means contact the TO but I doubt that you'll have much joy. The onus will be on you to show that they were cared for properly after they were put into your care at the airport. Buying flowers in this way is not something I'd ever consider and I certainly wouldn't expect them to last. They're going to be tranported in far from ideal conditions and Strelizia in particular are delicate tropical flowers. Even if bought from a florist in the UK after they've been transported here in optimum refrigerated conditions I wouldn't expect them to last for weeks. I think that you're best chance is to focus on the claim that they would last for weeks, not that you were sold sub-standard flowers in the first place.
