Me too!!! I always have at least one holiday or weekend break planned to look forward to,this year we had booked flights for next May before we went away and within a week of returning we booked the hotel that we had just returned from, will book a weekend away soon.

Yes, i feel quite sad for a while also, probably best thing is to book next years holidays or a short break, or arrange a couple of nights out etc or a couple of day trips out maybe, just something to break up your routine...

Not much for me, which is shocking!

I'm holiday mad, most of my disposable income goes on holidays, and OH had to go out to buy an Ipad and other expensive electricals to stop me from booking another holiday :rofl

When I get home I'm usually ready to come home. After a few weeks of being home that's when I start to miss being on holiday, then I spend hours searching for another holiday, much to the disappointment of OH.

I wish my OH loved holidays as much as me, then again he doesn't complain when we're there.

I hate holidays-not! Whenever we get back it takes me about a week to recover from post holiday blues :cry

Don't get post holiday blues anymore....

Not since we came to live permanently in sunny Cyprus in March 2004 :cheers

We go on holiday and then return to our own holiday island. I still work on a full time basis but I drive to work looking at the sea all along the highway, so pretty much everyday is good!

Another one here with the blues. Can't even book anything new until we know what's happening with hubby's job. Bloomin' economy!

When we came back from Cyprus in July this year I missed waking up to brilliant blue sky and sunshine - it was quite depressing. Within a few weeks we had booked up to go again next year and am now counting off the weeks - roll on July 2012 :sun2 :cheers :D

The best bit is - that the flights next year were £50 cheaper than this year :tup

I definitely get the blues for a few days when i come back from holidays. :cry I think the trick is, to always have something to look forward to to break up the routine, whether that's a short break away, or even a meal out or get together with friends, if there's no money in the pot for another break/holiday.

We are going away on a cheap Sun newspaper holiday in October half term. In December, we are away to London for two nights courtesy of the recent Travelodge sale.
We already have two holidays booked for next year,- one paid for mainly by Tesco deals. :cheers
I think i would find it very hard to have a two week holiday once a year. We prefer to break it up and spread our holidays throughout the year. Also like a mixture of city/sun breaks etc..

came back from Spain exactly a month ago now Sept 16th, still feelin fed up, looking at hols for next year now, long time off...Was thinking of having a 3 day break in Amsterdam in Feb 2012, anyone recommend a good company to do a 3 day coach or Eurostar trip with, package deal??
Reply
Hi John, would it not work out cheaper doing it yourself, rather than use a company. You could book the eurostar yourself, and then find accomodation?

Hi, yes possibly it would work out cheaper, just not very good at doing that sort of stuff thats why i normally book package deals but yes it is an option

I like to think that i'm very good when it comes to this sort of thing, so i could help if you give me the dates etc, and i'm sure others will also be of help.

But, if you feel comfortable booking it through an agent, then don't let me stop you, as there are obvious benefits to booking with an agent.

If it was me I would first of all get a price from an agent, then after I have got the price I will compare it with doing it on my own. If the agent price was only around 20/30 pounds more then I would probably go for that, but you have to weigh up the options, as you may get better journey times, more tailored to yourself than booking through a package.

:think I think I would do it the other way, get the DIY price first then contact the travel agent and use the DIY price as a bit of leverage :tup

Post holiday blues are starting to set in now as the weather's turning colder. Been back from Greece for about 9 weeks now and I haven't got a proper holiday booked again until next April. We've also booked next summer's 2 weeks in Greece so I haven't even got any research to be getting on with either. I'm just going to have to make do with counting down to the 3 nights we have away in Cardiff over the New Year.

Been feeling desperate here over the last week, especailly with so many people in work getting ready to set of for jollies during half term next week - however hubby's just told me someone has offered to have our dogs so we can get away for 2 nights - well it's better than nothing. :que Just off now to see if I can find a bargain :tup

Beware everybody. We were idly checking the price on a website for our usual hotel in Ibiza for next May/June when shock horror we noticed that there were only 2 seaview rooms left! Suffice it to say that we booked immediately and the website duly changed to only one room left. On that note, we later checked on a hotel in Lake Garda for next September which we fancied and again, there was little left so that was another holiday booked (2 in one day is a record, even for me! ) Funnily enough, the Thomson travel shop told me at the weekend that lots of people were disappointed not to get any last minute bargains this summer as there weren't any so perhaps there's a lot of early bookings for next year to avoid missing out. Anyone else noticed this?

Hi librarianne,

This is happening more and more these days. Sometimes the websites say only so many rooms left almost as soon as the new brochures come out. I've read somewhere that what it actually mean is that there are only so many rooms left at that price. More often than not once those are gone, the operators will release more rooms but at a different price- that price won't necessarily be more expansive either. I'd take those statements with a pinch of salt. I think it's only a ploy to get a quick booking.
