Good question, maybe nothing coming through your cold water tap...this may even effect tourist's don't you think? it is not magic we all use the same water, if it ain't available you wont get any..that simple

is the water shortage thing a regular occurence out there or is it a 1 off
do they not clean the sea water like they do in spain?? and pump it through the taps??

Water is always a problem on Cyprus, the weather is a clue with 340 days of sunshine a year you can see the problem, it gets worse with the dry winters of recent years, of course tourist use a fair bit too as many come to Cyprus for the reason of good summers, this year it will be dire and already we are having daily cuts..

How long? depends on your 'Muchtar' (village mayor) he decides...mostly ours is reduced pressure, it trickles out of the drinking water tap, all properties here have 500 galon water tanks on the roof, you may have noticed these, the fresh water also tops these up, so we always have enough water for as long as the tanks are full, they last a few days of normal use only..
