One of the best beaches I have been on in Europe has to be Landra bay in Cyprus. It is just to the west of Nissi beach about 4kilometers from Ayia Napa.It is a curved bay with soft yellow sand and it is immaculate. The sea is shallow up to a rocky breakwater about 100yds off shore. The resturants at the back of the beach are excellent and best of all NO music!.
Best beaches in Europe try Fueteventura there are loads to choose from.
Loads of beautiful beaches on Majorca
St Nicolas Beach, Zante...heaven
Agree with Jay and Sarah............if I had to name my top 3 both Landa Beach in Ayia Napa and St. Nicks in Zante would be there. My 1st place though would have to go to Macronnissos Beach (best kept a secret though ) outside Ayia Napa and just round the headland from Landa
Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. 7 Km of Blue Flag beach, sloping so gently that 100 metres out, it's still only up to my chest
the sand is so white its fab lovely warm calm water and a few apartments right on the beach
my idea of heaven
6th september cant come fast enough
I agree with 2 of the previous posters - I loved Macronissos beach in Cyprus near Ayia Napa and Alykes in Zante - georgeous turqouise seas.
Loads of beautiful beaches on the Algarve as well.
Sorry to be picky but although a Spanish possession Fuerteventura could possibly be listed as 'Africa' not Europe?
Thanks guys, youve certainly given me food for thought - i know its us tourists that usually waste the beach, however this week in Ibiza there have been lots of jelly fish along shoreline and we went to a fab beach (Playa Leya I think) but the life guard wouldnt let anyone in water, not even to paddle due to them - I know it was for the best though, but we were all roasted and it was just temptation!!!
the best beach i have been to is alcudia in majorca. it has white sand, greeny blue sea and slopes gently with no steep slopes down once in the water and best of all the med is really warm. there are loads of hotels right along the beach and alcudia is excellent for kids im sure they would have an excellent time if you went there.i first went when i was 11 and it still remains my favorite place. that why i am going back, i know im obviously not a kid anymore but there is lots for all ages in my opinion. i will be back there in 8 days and counting. !!
Perfect for the young ones.
Although I don't like the resort of Alcudia, the beach is fantastic.
I would say cattolica italy has one of the best beaches, along woth the other resorts in the adriatic coast, rimini, ricionie
Sorry to be picky but although a Spanish possession Fuerteventura could possibly be listed as 'Africa' not Europe?
Fair point Hi De Hi and I did ponder on the issue myself However although geographically they are nearer Africa they are culturally and politically European I think most people do class them as European.
I will ponder the issue again the next time I am lying on a fantastic beach there
If we are talking best beach for sand I would have to say Fuerteventura too, however if you are looking for turquoise clear seas to snorkel or dive, I would say Halkidiki has lots of beaches like this, however in places the sand is stoney/shingly.
Alghero, sardinia. White sand, clear sea. Beautiful, but does get very busy!!
The best beach for me has to be Cala Galdana in Menorca, reminds me of the Caribbean ....
