once out of the uk the british smoking laws do not appy, but any that may be imposed by the country you have enterd
But I would assume that as long as they are not contravening local laws that coach operators can still apply there own policies on this and some for ease and convenience might decide to adopt a no smoking policy throughout the journey. You would be best to contact the company direct and ask them what their future policies will be. After all, abolishing a 'smoking room' will, I assume, enable them to increase seating capacity and carry more fare paying passengers? I say 'assume' because I've never in fact been on a coach where passengers were allowed to smoke and so don't know how the room you are referring to works.
