There is the Irish Rover - from the top of Bar Street head down towards Smileys bar and the Irish Rover is sort of halfway between - on the right hand side. Its a small bar, and usually not very busy.
There is also Murphys - this is a big bar, but I've not been in it since it changed its name, so I don't know how busy is it. From the top of Bar Street, go up round the corner beside the Golden Dragon chinese restaurant, and Murphys is up that street no more than about 20 yards.
And then there is the Shamrock - this is right on Bar Street, in the busiest part of the resort. Gets very busy, but not very Irish (apart from the name ).
For the "craic" I'd suggest the Irish Rover is probably your best bet out of the 3.

thanx for that info elaine
Hi can anyone advise if any of these pubs screen live scottish football.
A lot of the bars on Bar Street, and some of the restaurants around Gumbet too, have Sky. Best thing to do is ask at your favourite bar/restaurant if they have Sky, and can they show the Scottish football matches.
