Hi everyone, this is my first post here so be gentle!
I hope someone can help me as this AI holiday lark is a total minefield!
My requirements:
4-11 August 2007
AI preferred but would consider HB
Flying from Birmingham to ANYWHERE!
3 adults, 1 infant. Two rooms required as i'm taking my Nan along with hubbie and son. (Two different hotel rooms or 2 bedrooms - NO sleeping in lounge area).
Some sort of entertainment in the hotel is required also.
MAX budget is 350 per adult (for me and hubbie). My Nan is willing to pay more in order to get her own room but she's rich and i'm not!
I don't mind booking a package or DIY.
Can anyone help me? I'm a little at where to go for as little money as poss.
We have saved a lot in the past by checking the different links on the website. Also it is worth checking on the different room allocations as that can bring the price down as well.
Not sure if flying from Birmingham is a restriction too much, but Thomsons are often cheaper flying from Bristol than Gatwick, so you may be lucky.
http://www.chevronairholidays.co.uk are offering Malta, the Topaz hotel, for your dates & party, at £1213 for half board, with an option to upgrade to AI (maybe do that direct with the hotel - often cheaper). That's for 2 twin rooms by the way.
Chevron Holidays
http://www.portlanddirect.co.uk . also have a look at http://www.mytravel.com or more in the direction of DIY try http://www.otbeach.com or http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk. there are many other sites that im sure people will suggest. I have a sneeky feeling though as this is quite late in the day for school holiday time your best price may come in the form of a package deal.
good luck
to get you started also have a look on the thomsons site . go to the accomodation only section and see what the search kicks up . if there is something of interest most importantly check the reviews here first if you find anything decent select it then the system should ask you if you want to add on a flight + transfer . this way should, but not always beat their package price . you could also check good luck
I will keep looking though but im not a big expert on last minute deals . im more of a book a year in advance and get the best price sort of person.
lyn
I would have booked before now but my passport ran out and then I went and had a baby! (who is nearly 2 now!) We both need our passports to arrive back before I can book anything but hopefully it should be before the end of the month.
I'll keep checking the websites you've all mentioned.
Try the Thomsons teletext pages.I got a holiday last month in a brand new hotel,AI and everything included, even 20kgs baggage allowance for £239 for 1 week. The web price was £459!
