Hi Everyone
Just thought I would let you know some things we got up to in Lanzarote and some contact details for some things also... (I have put a review of Hotel San Antonio and a review of the resort in the relevant areas)
We hired a Corsa for 1 week for €125 fully comp insurance from Payless, facing the Los Poscillos beach (Tel - 928 51 44 59). Thought this was a good deal and we only used €20 of petrol and we drove quite a lot. Only needed my driving licence. Took a while to get used to driving on the right hand side of the road but we were fine after a few hours.
We toured the island ourselves and went to the following...
Jardin de Cactus (Cactus Garden) €6 each admission
Jameos Del Agua €8 each
Mirador Del Rio €4.70 each (show ticket at bar and you got a free drink)
Timanfaya (Fire Mountain etc) €8 each (inc bus tour) (Get here early!!)
El Golfo (Free)
Teguise Market (Sunday Morning) €1.50 parking (Get here early about 9am, is packed by 11am)
Tried to see the Vally of the Palms but it was too cloudy that day.
Playa Blanca
Costa Teguise
Went to Corralejo in Fuerteventua on the Armas http://www.navieraarmas.com around 30mins for the crossing
Adults €23 (return)
Child €11.50 (return)
Fred Olsen http://www.fredolsen.es around 20 mins for the crossing
Adult €27.18 (return)
Child €13.68 (return)
The Armas was definately the most popular ferry with tourists and locals and the crossing was fine. Didn't think much of Corralejo though.
I would definately recommend hiring a car if you can, there is lots to see and I would like to go back and see the other things we missed. Would like to go back in a few years.
There are also some 'local' companies offering tours which are less expensive than the reps..

Valgrande
Last Minute
There are people handing out these leaflets all around the resort and some are also left on walls etc.
Hope this helps someone...
Give me a shout if anyone has any questions and I will try to help.

glad you had a good time .it really makes sense to hire a car,the fire mountain trip itself pays for itself against the reps prices,we have been twice and both times hired cars and made our own way.no trouble with the roads at all.
Welcome back and thank you for all the information.
