Magaluf is nice but again lacks the huge range of entertainment Benidorm offers. I have found Benidorm to be unique in this though maybe someone wider travelled would disagree.
I am comparing with Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Mallorca, Salou, Torremollinos and Callella and although all have their charms Benidorm is tops in my book for value for money. Maybe Bulgaria would be cheaper, but I doubt you would get the entertainment there.
sir bob .. there is not really any comparable resort on the Costa Blanca, and so I will transfer this thread to our General Holiday Enquiries forum in the hope of attracting a wider response.
Dare I suggest Marmaris.Quite a few people compare Marmaris to Benidorm as its very popular with the British, there are lots of bars with entertainment and its very good value for money.I like both resorts but tend to go to Benidorm during our winter months. There are always excellent priced late deals. Another reasonably priced destination is Bulgaria but I personally prefer Turkey.
There really is no where in Europe to match Benidorm for the range of live entertainment and value for money.
Sanjiiiiiiiiiiiiii
I must agree the entertainment in Benidorm is unbeatable but as Sir Bob is finding it to expensive other destinations are an option.Last month I paid £239 for a weeks holiday in a new 5star AI hotel between Icmeler and Marmaris with Thomson. That included everything including 2 bedrooms,TVs and 2 bathrooms.Ideal if there are a family of 4..I know I couldnt have got anything in Benidorm for this price of comparable standard.
What about Sunny Beach in Bulgaria?
Hi Bob. try here;
What about Salou. It's a queiter version of Benidorm, IN MY OPINION , and the Port Aventura park is on the doorstep. But I'd still try and find somewhere in Benidorm.
We stick to what we like now, and it's benidorm every time for us (That way there is no disappointment ).
Why not post your dates, airport, etc... on here, I'm sure we can look around for you, and see if we can get you a good deal!
Regards, BBB
Have recently returned from Albufeira and had the misfortune to spend a night in Praia Da Rocha, lovely beach, nice and flat for those with walking difficulties, loads of high rise concrete buildings, tacky shops and lots of Irish bars with entertainment - could well be the Benidorm of the Algarve but a lot cheaper - worth looking into.
The only place I could compare price wise is Turkey. I would not recommend Salou at all though even though I love the place and usually go there myself. Price wise although it may be cheaper to get there once in resort everything is way more expensive than it is in Benidorm.
Recently though, since July 2006 I have been to Marmaris 4 times and heading back out there again in Sept 2007. There is a variety of entertainment, not a patch on Benidorm I might add though, but the closest thing I have found to Benidorm.
Marmaris has become my favourite destination due to the friendliness of the Turkish people. (I never found the Spaniards all that friendly)
I doubt you will find another Benidorm, but hopefully you can try a cheapie to Marmaris and I am sure you will love it.
Have a happy holiday wherever you choose.
TC
i have to agree with the majority here, have been all over europe and have yet to find anywhere better than marmaris!
