Hi there
we are going to Marriott Hotel Naama Bay for 2 weeks end of August.
I'm a real beach person and love swimming and snorkeling and when its hot spend most of my time flopping about in the sea.
Have read in some reports that you need rubber swimming shoes
as there is sharp coral even in the shallows walking into sea in Naama Bay.
Is this correct ? and is all the beach like this or just parts?
Also - how much will is cost to hire snorkeling equipment?
and do they hire for the day or week ?
and Where is the best place to hire?
Any advice welcome
thanks
Wendy
One part of your post is right, you will be flopping around in the sea as its too hot on the sand i am a beach lover but with temps of 50+ each day it burnt through my factor 30 sun cream (Ambro Solaire)...
i am going back to the Sonesta Beach resort for the 4th visit in August(20th) so i may see you as the Marriott is next door but one hotel to me.
Truthfully i have just come back a few days ago and the sea temps are 28c.
For snorkeling equipment most people buy it at home before they go, but you can buy them in resort or at your hotel, there were loads at my hotel should you fail to find any.
Beach shoes i also bough from the UK last year, but you can buy some nice ones in resort (hotel etc) for a fiver.
The coral is very sharp, so shoes are advisable.
