I can suggest reliable agencies I read good report about them in fuw forums http://www.reallifeegypt.com
I'm sure thay will help you for your holiday better than me.
Enjoy your trip.
I would love to work in Luxor, but just had a baby so not able to do this now, wished I did it a few years ago.
I was in Luxor end of last year and got very friendly with the Reps as well as the Hotel staff. I would talk to Thomson's or one of the tour operator about being a rep in Luxor. I would also contact the large hotels as I know for a fact that they like employing English staff as it helps them with their guests. I do know that the Mercure Inn have a beauty salon and they were talking to me regarding working with them across their hotels, however I was a little concerned re Insurance etc.
I do have a very influential friend in Luxor and if you need any help then I could always put you in touch with him to see if he could help or you could contact the sunshine orphanage and see if you could help them as well.
Hope this is of use to you and keep us updated.
Very envious
