Hi All
We've been to other Greek Islands such as Corfu, Rhodes and because of the flights available from the UK, we have decided to go toe Crete at the end of August 2007.
We like the greek food, sandy beaches, nice scenery and nights out (not raving).
we're 40 and still young at heart, but don't like the over crowded, lager lout, rave music places.
We do enjoy a lively atmosphere, so long as we can return back to a more sedate place to rest our heads.
Not asking for much are we :-)
can anyone reccommend suitable places to stay?
Thanks in advance
Georgioupolis, Paleohora or Myrtos should do the trick!
There is something magical about Elounda that makes people return time after time.
we're 3 couples in our forties and fifties and seem to like the same things as yourselves. After much research we've just booked Stalis in Crete. It's also our first visit to the island although we've enjoyed Kardamena (Kos), Kassiopi (Corfu), Argassi (Zante) and Kamari (Santorini) in the past.
Of these we found Kamari too quiet. Good Luck with your search.
Have been going to Stalis for many years and have stopped in other resorts round the island I think you have made a good choice.I'd just like to say Shirley h be careful if you consider Elounda it is a really really lovely place but! it's a bit quiet in the evenings if you are looking for a little bit of liveliness as well.
Rick
You can stay in Palioxora ,falasarna in Chania or gewrgioupoli in Rethimno, Stalida in Heraklion and Sitia in Agios Nikolaos...
