in cala N Forcat there is one just down the road from the water park (about 400 yards away on the opposite side of the road and just around a corner)
cash machines dont seem to be as available as they are in england, but i would expect the larger resorts to have a couple....
best to ask your reception on arrival where the nearest one is.
I think we will go to Mao at least once during our holiday so we will stock up then. I suppose most places will take the old "flexible enemy" and add a small surcharge to boot.
Oh well! Nothing really changes - they all like to squeeze the old holidaymaker until he squeals. Everywhere I go there's always more to pay than you are first led to believe.
Still, looking forward to our first visit and we are getting some very good information and tips from the other forum visitors.

have a good holiday, as for the "flexible friend", i only used mine for hiring a car and had no problem but im pretty sure your hotel will take credit cards in their € exchange deals, ask at reception when you get there for the closest bank machine, and as for the extras, apart from the entry to the bouncy areas for the kids, menorca was pretty much "catch free".
the train that runs around the resorts was i thought a bit on the dear side (€7 per person) with no concessions for the kids it was going to cost €28 (about £20) for a ½ hour ride around the rersort needless to say we didnt get on it
Thanks for the information. It seems car hire is a must. As only my wife and I are travelling (and she wants a fly & flop holiday) we might be able to forgo car hire. We can get the bus to Mao to do a little shopping. I'm beginning to feel a lot better about this holiday. We've done the other islands - Majorca and Ibiza y Formentera, now to try the last and hopefully - best.
anyway im sure that you will enjoy Menorca as we did, it is the only place we have been to two years running and are already talking about going back to again next year.
have fun.
None there last year, nearest is Fornells (15 minute drive away). Worth a trip for a walk and meal as well as it is a lovely place. Make sure you try the Pinomar restaurant in Son Parc and the one at the Golf club. More expensive but very good. You'll find Son Parc is very family orientated with a couple of Dutch/english hotels and the rest is private villas and apartments but some of the bars do stay open late. You will need ahire car as it is afair way from the airport.
There is a cash point in Arenal D'en Castell also. I know that people walk from Son Parc to Arenal over the cliffs and along the road. Have not tried it myself, we have three small children, but I think it takes about 45min to an hour. There is probably someone who knows. The cash point is sort of across the street from the Irish Bar close to the supermarket but on street level. Someone will point in the right direction. We love Menorca and Arenal so I hope you have a great time.
Great info, Fornells and Arenal sound like good places to visit. We are good walkers and look forward to seeing these places.
