If you're looking for a good site, have a look down at the bottom of the island at Prasonissi. A massive sandy beach with a lot of windsurfers.

thanks for the info on Prasonissi beach, just had look at it on net but can you tell me, do you know if there is actual Windsurf Hire there or is it just a beach where windsurfers take their own gear?

Prasonissi is a really cool place to go for Windsurfing, but it mainly people bringing there own gear. I dont recall seeing any hire places. There are places in Ixia & Trianda thats have good kit and good wind all summer long. They're not the nicest of places to stay mind, but thats irrelevant if you just wanna windsurf!

I've just rceived an e mail from WS place at Prasonissi, they do only do Holidays!

thats our problem really coz my daughter & I don't WS we have to find a place that caters for all of our tastes!

It's a place well worth visiting just to watch the experts. The wind is great for the para sailing (if that's what it is) on one side of the sand bar and the snorkelling on the other. It's about 40 miles from Lindos.
Google up Tsambeki Beach for another nice beach where they do water sports.

thanks jamkart, I've already checked this one out, I email them but they only do HOLIDAYS not just hire!
