If you have no intentions of travelling outside of Sharm El Sheikh whilst there then you do not need a visa. Simply write SINAI ONLY on your card and head straight for the passport control desk.

If you may possibly go on a trip that takes you OUTSIDE the area then get one. About £15 per person I think and they are available at the airport.

But in short, no you don't need one for Sharm UNLESS you are going on trips outside of the Sinai, eg Cairo, or staying for 15 days or more. It's cheaper if you buy it when you arrive, should be US$15. Just write SINAI ONLY on the back of the landing card that the airline give you.
