We are looking to visit either Weston-super-mare or Burnham on sea next year
Are either of the places hilly My mums coming with us who has walking difficulties especially up hill.
If any one could recommend a holiday park thats within walking distance of one of these towns and suitable for someone who cant walk too fat and a small child i would be very grateful .
weston +burnham are both flat and only about 3 miles apart.
burnham is a lot quieter than weston.
oh and if i remmember correctly i dont think the sea comes inland too much so plenty of sand but long walk for a paddle...
Some of weston is a bit hilly inland and to the north bit busy but good for a visit. Cost about £4.50 ( last year )for all day parking along the front and straight onto the beach, not too much of a drop at the south end of beach.
Burnham is alot flatter all over. Pay and display car park at somerfield on south end of beach. Few steps down to the beach. cafe and loo's here too on the prom.
Thankyou for your help.
If you go to WsM or Burnham, please be careful about the beaches between the two at Brean. They look very inviting but there are several people who get trapped in the muddy sand each year and have to be rescued. There are several warning signs posted but people will ignore them and continue out onto the dangerous areas. The lifeboats service do get a bit fed up with it.
I would go for Burnham myself. Brean leisure park in Burnham or near Burnham is very good and there is a pontins there to.
Not fussy on Weston bit to much like Blackpool!
Haven have a holiday park at Burnham and you can actually walk into the centre from the park and along the prom. I'm not sure if they still have a land train.
Thanks everyone
Weston is peace on earth compared with Blackpool! I love it there, and it`s nice and flat with not too many kerbs to go up and down. Not too keen on Burnham, but each to his own.
