Hi.
We're hoping to get away for 4 or 5 days at the end of October and am looking for suggestions as to where to go.
We would like somewhere where we can relax on the beach for a few days, so it's got to be somewhere that will still be hot. Also, we don't mind how far the flight is.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me with this

try lookin on icelolly.com it`ll tell you the temps ..we are looking for egypt but the flights are abt £500 each from newcastle. i think cyprus, crete etc are hot then....hope this helps

Egypt would be my first choice I think, but like you the flights are stupid prices at the moment. We also like the look of cyprus, but again it's pretty pricey. Hopefully get a good deal nearer the time though!

Cyprus or the canaries, especially fuerteventura for its beautiful beaches.
I personally would go for the Red Sea in Egypt.
Red Sea, Red Sea! You just knew I'd recommend it!
I've been told Portugal is still lovely at that time of year (I hope so as we've booked up to go!! )
I was going to ask this question as well. I would love to do Egypt etc, but my friend is treating the pair of us to a weekend away and so we have to do our trip on a budget.
We were supposed to be going in Sept, but for one reason and another, its now been pushed back to Oct - so my questions are:
1) Where is hot, lively and cost effective at this time of year? (all the flights to canaries, cyprus etc are about £500 for the two of us before accomodation, so would be cheaper for a weeks holiday!!)
2) Is it worth waiting until the last minute and do prices for flights usually go up or down??
Thanks
Em
The flights will be expensive at the end of october as it is the schools half term then.
Have a look on
Failing that, I too quite fancy Portugal. but I'm also wondering how hot it will be!?

We're thinking we might have to do a city break instead, so if anyone can suggest a anywhere for this, that would be great.
Looking on various sites, Prague and Rome keep coming up, so if anyone has experience of these places and can give us any tips I would much appreciate it.
Thanks again,
Sunaholic.
A week away won't cost anymore.
It's not the cost, I wish I could get away for a week, but I'm a teacher and only have a week window and can't really go away for all of it.
How about somewhere like Cascais or Estoril near Lisbon. These are by the sea, if your lucky with the weather then you can have a bit of a beach holiday. If the weather not so good you do the city break thing in Lisbon. Or both
Well, we are off to Santa Susanna this Oct. and Beni Oct 08!!!
joolz, what do you think the weather will be like? Have you been at this time of year before?
Hi we are going to the costa del sol again we did 2 years ago and only had 1 day out of 7 when it drizzled however it was still warm. And as we have booked the flights seperate and the hotel via an online site we are saving a fortune due to it being the school hols
Were off to Cyprus in October 24th - 31st
Flying From Manchester To Larnaca
For 4 People Those Flights Worked Out Around £870
And Then For Our Accomadation It Was £375
We Done A DIY Holiday This Time And It Has Worked Out Better!
Went In August It Worked Out For Accomadation & Flights
£2400! Was Unbearable Heat But Still Lovley
Hopefully Will Still Be Hot In Oct But Not As Hot As Aug..
Parents Live In Cyprus They Said Its Cooling Down Now
But Still Hot ! Hope This Helped You
Enjoy Your Holiday If You Do Go Anywhere
