Hi

Sorry for being nosey, but we bought one this year (hated waiting for the first brew of the day until breakfast) from downstairs in Gima, I think it worked out at about £25 for a decent(ish) full sized kettle.

Hope this helps.

I own up to reading this too!!
We always go to the nearest market for essentials at the start of the hols too - gin, tonic, vodka, cola, efes....... :yipee

Gima is prob about the same distance but we just prefer migros... don't know why!!! We usually stop off for an efe's enroute at a lil english bar on the right hand side... cant remember its name how rude of me but they always recognise us and my hubby likes their brekki's!! Tansas is a bus journey away when youve got shopping bags to carry.

mmm youve got me thinking now... what supermarket does everyone prefer?

we prefere Tansas, we go for our daily "cool down", getting an Ayran then wizzing over to the little kebap shop ( not there this year though  , another bl**dy macdonalds) and sitting outside people watching.........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what more could i want

lol you can't beat people watching with a nice cool efes mmmmmmm
heehee tishtosh... well done for admitting it! We get our vodka/brandy on the plane 2 for £15 (or 4 for £30 lol) then stock up on coke & orange... glad its not just us, i love having a couple of cheekys on the balcony before we go out!

Thanks frightened flyer, that helps loads. £25 is a lot more than a cheapy one here (asda do them for about £6) but at least i wont have to lug it over there along with everything else a baby needs... not to mention a 4yr old and then theres all my shoes... lol hubby can take one pair of jeans, one shirt, one vest, one pair of shorts hehee

why not take a travel kettle and put it in youre hand luggage.

i did think of travel kettle but if i can get one over there easy enough i'd rather just do that, I'm dreading closing my cases!

& i guess my hand luggage will be my changing bag!

how does something so small need so much stuff!

bit late on this one.... all the supermarkets sell kettles... the cheapest tend to be king or simbo.... they are ok but not guaranteed . Hope this is ok.... take care have a great holiday! and a nice cuppa!

thanks chelsea boy!

lol its for babymilk not tea but i'm sure i'll indulge in a cuppa tea aswell!

I only need it for 2wks, I'll be leaving it in turkey so a cheapy one should do the job fine.

you are a star!

Hey, sorry for being nosey :P but just thought I would add....... I know it aint an answer about a kettle, but you can take a bag for you and the baby on the plane. we had no problems having our own hand luggage, and a baby changing bag, so if you dodnt know that, I hope it helps :)

Friends of ours bought this when they were in the States. They take it on every holiday with them, and they travel all over the world. http://www.amazon.com/Voltage-Valet-Immersion-Heater-Water/dp/B000AXS0UE They put it in their mug of cold water, switch it on and the water comes to the boil. It's more compact than a kettle, but you'll need to get an adapter to change the plug from the USA style. Might be worth considering?

Where is the Arslan Market? Might just buy a kettle as well, save taking the travel kettle with us :D
